24DrTravel.com insurance grew out of an original idea to provide useful information and advice to travellers abroad. We have assembled a comprehensive and informative reference library covering many aspects of foreign travel. We advise on travel planning, health precautions and sensible strategies to adopt for travelling in safety, in addition to providing general information about popular resort destinations and up-to-the-minute travel news and alerts.

We have always advised travellers to take out the appropriate travel insurance for their journey and not to be tempted to skimp on it if money is tight. Our recommendation has always been that travellers should carry as much risk as they can afford but get the essentials covered and this has led to some customers asking if we could provide such cover. In response, we went out into the market to find good quality, reliable travel insurance providers to recommend to our browsers. We knew exactly what we were looking for; a good range of cover coupled with competitive prices. We selected Solid Insurance for the quality of their service and competitive pricing. Out of this grew 24DrTravel Insurance, administered by Rock Insurance Services Ltd., and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA number 300317).

Our web site is now a one-stop shop for travellers to research their chosen travel destinations, pick up useful tips, assess their insurance needs and then purchase suitable cover tailored to their specific requirements. Our Customer Service team is on hand to help travellers to explore their options or to take their instructions by phone, should they prefer. Our policies list over 200 waived medical conditions. Our customer service also extends to a 24 hour Emergency Assistance Helpline and a Legal Advice Helpline for policy holders whilst abroad, provided by Europ Assistance.

We offer a range of travel policies to suit differing budgets and levels of risk, including compensation for cancellation due to redundancy. We cover over 60 different sporting activities and offer insurance to all ages, covering a maximum of four children (17 years and younger) on our family policies. Travellers up to 65 years of age can be covered on both annual multi-trip policies and single-trip policies.

24DrTravel.com is a trading style of Rock Insurance Services Limited, a firm authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA). No additional fees will be charged for our service. All you are required to pay is the insurance premium.

You WILL NOT receive advice or a recommendation from us for insurance. We may ask some questions to narrow down the selection of products that we will provide details on. You will then need to make your own choice about how to proceed.

We collect and hold insurance premiums as agent of the insurer.

You are responsible, on an ongoing basis, for providing us and/or your insurers with all material facts relating to the insurance covers we arrange on your behalf. Material facts are those which are likely to affect the assessment and acceptance of risks being insured. Failure to provide full and accurate information may mean that your cover is invalid. If you are in any doubt as to what facts are considered to be material then you should disclose them to us or the insurers.

We are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).  You may be entitled to compensation from the FSCS if we cannot meet our obligations.  This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim. Insurance advising and arranging is covered for 90% of the claim, without any upper limit.  For compulsory classes of insurance, insurance advising and arranging is covered for 100% of the claim, without any upper limit. Further details about compensation scheme arrangements are available from the FSCS.

You may already possess alternative insurance(s) for some or all of the features and benefits provided by products purchased; it is your responsibility to investigate this. We will not provide you with advice about the suitability of this product for your individual needs but we will be happy to provide you with factual information to assist you in making an informed buying decision.

All policies have exclusions and restrictions to them. It is very important that you read and understand these and only purchase the policy if you are happy that you and (where applicable) every traveller meet the eligibility criteria;

• you are resident in the European Union;
• you are no more than 65 years of age for Single Trip and Annual Multi-Trip policies
• you have no pre-existing medical conditions other than those listed in the waived condition list (see policy wording).

Examples of these and other conditions and restrictions, and what to do if you are unsure about any aspect of an exclusion, are contained within your policy certificate.

If after purchasing a policy should you find it does not meet your requirements you have 14 days from the date of issue to cancel the policy. If you do decide to cancel your money will be refunded in full, provided no claims have been made or incident likely to give rise to a claim has arisen.
